THE DETAILS.....

  • Our Passport Mission Camp in 2007 will be in Boston.  It will be the week of July 21st through the 28th (Sat. to Sat.), which includes the two travel days.  Cost is $286 each with a $75 deposit due now.  Please make every effort to get your deposit in before November 1st if possible.  If you are unable to turn in the deposit by that date, please let Susan know if you will be going anyway. . .
  • This semester’s Franklin County HS play is starring our own Shay Mullins.  We will meet at SABC at 5:45 p.m.  Return time is to be determined.  We will call when we are leaving Rocky Mount.  Bring $10 for the play and a fast food snack. . .
  • The Un-Birthday Party on Nov. 18th will be at Susan’s house (1625 Meadowview Lane) from 7 to 10 p.m.  Plan to be dropped off and picked up there.  Please bring a wrapped “white elephant gift” (i.e. something strange and wonderful) that anyone would want (???)  Also bring $4 pizza money.  Dessert will of course be birthday cake and ice cream!. . .
  • On the 19th we will meet at the church at 3 p.m. instead of the usual 6 p.m. , and leave to do some leaf raking at church members’ homes.  BRING YOUR OWN RAKE AND GLOVES!  Also bring some money for a Mexican dinner afterward.  We will be back to the church by 7 p.m. . .
  • Our meeting time for the Candle Tea and shopping day will be at 9:00 a.m. on Dec. 9th.  Dress warmly.  We will have to wait outside for quite awhile for the Tea.  Cost is $3 each for the Tea.  Everyone will need money for lunch and dinner (or feel free to bring a sack lunch).  You will also need shopping money.  Last stop for the day will be the Tanglewood Christmas Light Display near the mall in the town of Clemmons.  Each year the wait time is different so it is best to plan on a late night.  We have gotten back to church as late as midnight.  We will call when we are 20 minutes or so from church. . . .
  • Saturday, December 16th we will gather at the church at 1 p.m. to assemble gift goody baskets for our homebound church members.  After our baskets are ready, we’ll head out to do some Christmas caroling and basket deliveries.  We hope to be done and back to the church by 4 p.m., but will call when we are heading back to church.  All youth are asked to bring two dozen cookies, brownies or other baked items to share for the baskets. . .
  • Sunday evening, Dec. 17th will be our Christmas party.  This year it will be at Susan’s house.  Please bring a plate of Christmas goodies to share and a wrapped gift that both guys and girls would like.  Please do not give gift certificates (not much thrill in unwrapping) and do not spend more than $10.  Homemade gifts are great too!  Don’t hesitate to give them.  Also, do not label the present for anyone in our group The party will begin at 7 p.m. and end at 10 p.m.  Information on special church-wide events you will find elsewhere in this newsletter.  Be sure to check your youth ministry monthly calendars as well.

HOPE TO SEE YOU FOR ALL THESE GREAT TIMES AHEAD. . .AND BRING A FRIEND!
